Meet the Instructor
Tamekia Lindsay Thompson, MSN, FNP-BC, DNP (c)
Nurse Practitioner • Health Coach • Mentor • Educational Leader •Keynote Speaker
Tamekia Lindsay Thompson is a nurse practitioner, health coach, and mentor with over 15 years of clinical experience across primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare settings. Her career has spanned diverse care environments, giving her a deep, practical understanding of clinical decision-making, patient complexity, and the pressures nurses face at every level of practice.
Throughout her career, Tamekia has worked alongside nurses at all stages, from new graduates finding their footing to experienced clinicians navigating high-acuity, high-stress environments. Over time, she recognized a recurring and often unspoken challenge: highly capable nurses struggling with confidence under pressure, not due to lack of knowledge, but due to stress, hierarchy, and systems that rarely teach how to think in real time.
Driven by this insight, Tamekia embraced her role as a social change agent within the nursing profession. She believes that advancing nursing practice requires more than clinical expertise—it requires strong mentorship, intentional leadership, and safe spaces for professional growth.
Her work is rooted in the belief that:
Confidence is a trainable skill
Clinical judgment improves with structure and reflection
Nurses thrive when they are supported, not scrutinized
Leadership in nursing includes how we think, communicate, and lead ourselves
These beliefs guide her approach to education, mentorship, and professional development.
